Abstract

This test method specifies a procedure for determining the spontaneous ignition temperature Tc of samples of radius r, and, from these temperatures, the material parameters M and P from the equation where dc is a Frank-Kamenetskii critical parameter. The theory is described more completely in Annex A. The method applies a linearly rising temperature in the test oven. The method is less time consuming and more practical than conventional methods utilizing constant ambient temperature.
