Abstract

The objective of the test method is to test the efficiency of anti-scale devices. The efficiency is determined by measuring the amount of scale on a heating element in a water heater equipped with treated water compared with the amount of scale on a blind installation without water treatment. Measurements are made in the following two cases: • The efficiency of anti-scale devices installed in throughflow systems • The efficiency of anti-scale devices installed in recirculation systems. The method can be used in two situations: • The method can be used to examine if an anti-scale device is suited for use in connection with a certain water quality, requiring that the test rig is moved to the place in question • The method can be used in connection with an impartial examination of anti-scale devices in connection with a certain water quality. In this case there are requirements for the hardness of the test water and the ability of the scale to precipitate. It may be possible for the hardness and precipitation ability to be prepared artificially in the laboratory.
