Abstract
SCOPE
This Nordtest method specifies a test procedure for determining the soft body impact resistance of sarking or nonloadbearing roof underlay on timber rafters.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
The test method is intended to be used for determining the strength of sarking or underlay under roofing tiles etc., when it is subjected to accidential loads during the construction of the roof. The loads may be from persons stepping or falling on the sarking, which otherwise is not meant to carry imposed loads in the finished roof structure. The sarking may be of roofing felt, plastic sheet, or wood based sheathing materials.
