Abstract

The aim of this NORDTEST method is to form a common basis for evaluation and approval of carbon monoxide toxic alarms, hereafter called CO-toxic alarms. In this method CO-toxic alarm means an electronic system which gives off an audible alarm when exposed to carbon monoxide of certain concentrations. The test methods concern the primary performance characteristics of CO-toxic alarms and the stability of the performance characteristics against influences from the environment. In addition to the tests in this NORDTEST method, further tests will be required by the National authorities, e.g., regarding hazards in connection with electrical shocks for mains operated CO-toxic alarms.
