Abstract

1. SCOPE

This method provides a way of finding the pullout strength of mechanical fasteners for roof coverings exposed to axial symmetric loading. Both static and pulsating loads are used. (In the case of unsymmetrical loadings, the strength must be evaluated separately). For a system test of strength of resistance against wind load, see NORDTEST method NT BUILD 307.

2. FIELD OF APPLICATION

This method can be used for all types of fasteners used for mechanical attachment of roof coverings, such as self-threading screwes, and various types of expansion plugs. The base material used may be concrete, aerated concrete, or steel deck.
