Abstract

The aim of this NORDTEST method is to form a common basis for evaluation and approval of passive infrared detectors (PIRdetectors) for automatic intrusion alarm systems. The test methods concern the primary performance characteristics of PIR-detectors and the stability of the performance characteristics against influences from the operation environment. In addition to the tests in this NORDTEST method, further tests will be required by the National authorities, e.g. regarding function and sabotage immunity.
