Abstract

1. SCOPE

This NORDTEST method describes a test method for evaluating the condensation performance of windows.

2. FIELD OF APPLICATION

The test method is only applicable to windows with two or more panes in a linked sash and is intended for evaluation of the resistance to condensation inside the window. Such condensation can occur if there is an air leakage that permits water vapour from the inside air to penetrate into the window. For evaluation of the resistance to condensation on the inner surface of the window due to low surface temperatures, NT BUILD 235 should be used. The test method is not applicable to condensation due to water evaporating from wooden parts of the window.
