Abstract

SCOPE

This NORDTEST method describes a way of testing water resistance under pulsating air pressure for building elements and components to be fitted in vertical external walls and supplied in the form of completely assembled and finished units. The method is especially well suited for research and development work as well as for prototype testing of components.

FIELD OF APPLICATION

This method applies to all components and sections of external vertical walls, made of any material and in their normal operating conditions for which they are designed and installed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations in a finished building, bearing in mind the conditions of the test as defined below. The method does not apply to the joints between the test specimen and surrounding components and material.
