Abstract

  The purpose is to define an unambiguous method to measure and characterise the injection performance of hydraulic injection moulding machines. As the injection performance is dependent on injection pressure and rate, the correlation is presented as a graph. For practical reasons a utilizable injection pressure shall be defined. The utilisable injection pressure is the maximum pressure that can be used without reduction in the repeatability of the machine [1]. The utilisable injection performance and utilisable injection pressure are plotted in a graph, as shown in Figure 1, together with the repeatability.
